This design combines everything I love about summer adventures: a classic Jeep, swaying palm trees, rolling ocean waves, and a beautiful sunset, all created using the overlay mosaic crochet technique.
The Inspiration
I wanted to create a blanket that felt like the perfect beach getaway. Whether you’re a Jeep enthusiast, love coastal decor, or simply enjoy tropical scenery, this design brings those relaxing vacation vibes into your home.
Using just two colors of yarn, the overlay mosaic crochet technique creates bold texture and striking detail that really makes the beach scene come to life.
I crocheted my sample using I Love This Yarn!® from Hobby Lobby in Hot Pink and Buttercup. These two vibrant colors were the perfect choice for creating a fun tropical sunset, and the overlay mosaic crochet technique adds plenty of texture and dimension with just two colors.
